Influence of Family, Community and Culture in Child Development
FAMILY
There are different family structures in society but something that they all have in common is that all of them influence child development. A child’s first relationships are the ones with the family. These relationships are very important because the family gives the child personal values and social behavior. Also, the early years of the child are the most sensitive time because there is a physical, emotional and cognitive development. Because of this, it is very important that the first caregivers of the child are aware of the child’s need of love, secureness, care and nurture.
Parenting styles:
Parents are a huge part of a child's life. The way parents act, say, or do they are largely impact a child's development from the moment the child is born.
Parenting has a large impact in a child's life and development. There are families who adopt more than one parenting styles because parents have different beliefs on how to raise a child. Good parenting leads to good child development.

COMMUNITY
Apart from the family, the community also plays a very important role in child’s development. The community also influence the child’s self of being and also a sense of connection. This means that the child finds connections with whoever has the same interest as him or her. Also the child starts to build social skills through playgroups. If a child does not belong to a community he or she would lack social skills and will grow isolated and lacking of several skills.
When the child is ready to go to school there are several ways in which children and parents can be involved in the community and the child's development.

CULTURE
Every culture has its own norms. Family has a huge influence of the child’s culture because they are going to emphasize certain cultural norms, values and skills. As the child grows up, the culture would be more defined and shaped through the environment and social interactions. There are also internal factors such as personal values, norms, moral differences, language, parenting styles and beliefs that also are going to change and shape the person’s culture.
Moral Differences
Because morals differ throughout the world, individuals stress certain ideas, goals and skills. These morals tend to come from the family and their culture. This are going to influence the child's actions and decisions.
Language
Language is a huge part of culture. Language plays a huge role in communication and interaction with others.

- Authoritative: democratic style of parenting, parents are attentive, forgiving, teach their offspring proper behavior, have a set of rules, and if child fails to follow their is punishment, if followed their is reward/reinforcement
- Authoritarian: strict parenting style, involves high expectations from parents but have little communication between child and parents. Parents don't provide logical reasoning for rules and limits, and are prone to harsh punishments
- Permissive: parents take on the role of "friends" rather than parents, do not have any expectations of child, they allow the child to make their own decisions
- Uninvolved: parents neglect their child by putting their own life before the child's. They do provide for the child's basic needs but they show little interaction with the child

- Attend a class field trip.
- Share a special interest or talent with your child's class and/or community.
- Teach children a skill you have, like sewing or playing an instrument
- Volunteer in school activities.
- Donate objects from home to your child’s classroom
- Offer to share your occupation with the parents of your child's class and the community.
